More than 65 years ago, Dr. Thomas Streitz opened the doors of his first dental practice in Joliet with a guiding belief to treat every patient like family. His gentle manner, skilled hands, and the way he connects with his patients quickly made him a trusted name in the community.
Generations grew up in his chair, beginning as three-year-olds and continuing to return as adults. It’s a true testament to the relationships he built. Even after retiring at 82, Dr. Thomas still visits the office to reconnect with patients who became lifelong friends.
Tradition Forward
Dr. Thomas’s son, Dr. Dan, proudly carried on his father’s mission, continuing to grow the practice while holding true to its family-centered values. With the same dedication and kindness, Dr. Dan helped Joliet and Plainfield families maintain healthy, confident smiles for decades.
Today, that tradition lives on through Dr. David Streitz, the third generation of the family to care for the community. This continued legacy makes Streitz Dental Arts a rare and remarkable three-generation family practice that patients love for the familiarity, the trust, and the feeling of being part of a tradition that lasted for more than 65 years.
Dr. Dan Streitz is recognized as an AGD Master dentist, a distinction less than 2% of dentists have earned, and recently earned the Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition (LLSR) from the Academy of General Dentistry. The LLSR is among most rigorous continuing dental education awards offered today with only 304 other dentists having been awarded since its inception. The LLSR acknowledges the continued achievements of AGD Masters who recognize the need for continuous learning and to stay active both in organized dentistry and their communities.
Dr. Dan Jr. practices all aspects of general dentistry with a focus on dental implants, cosmetics, and restorative procedures such as crowns and bonding. He has earned Fellowship status in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD), which required hundreds of hours of advanced training beyond his dental degree, and a distinction only 6% of dentists have earned. Additionally, Dr. Dan has demonstrated his dedication to implant dentistry by earning a Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (FICOI).
